What We Do

How We Do It

The Alliance pursues three interrelated strategies to meet our mission:

Policy Advocacy:

We educate and motivate federal, state, and local policymakers and the public to develop responsible public policies that recognize the needs and abilities of young people to make their own best decisions about relationships, sex, parenting, and life.

Capacity Building:

We know teen pregnancy and young parenthood are complex issues and driven by many social inequities and environmental factors. Our work is designed to focus on preventing unintended teen pregnancy while increasing resources and respect for young parents and their families.

Reframing Teen Pregnancy:

We build the capacity of youth-serving providers and engage youth in public policy advocacy to ensure reproductive justice for all youth and young parents in an environment of dignity, respect, and high expectations. We believe that youth gaining control over their sexual health are youth gaining control over their lives.
