2010 Teen Pregnancy Institute

Expecting Success for Youth and Young Families

November 17, 2010, 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm
DCU Center, Worcester, MA
$90 members / $125 non-members

The Alliance’s 12th Annual Teen Pregnancy Institute featured workshops, panels, and speakers for professionals working in teen parent services, teen pregnancy prevention, family planning, education, and early childhood education.

The conference featured a screening of The Gloucester 18 documentary, which deconstructs the media hype surrounding Gloucester in 2008 and seeks out the real stories of the families and individuals involved. The Gloucester 18 unfolds entirely through interviews with young people, families, and community providers working with youth. The film illuminates the complexities of the challenges communities face in addressing teen pregnancy. It pushes us to think harder about what we need to do differently to help young people make important decisions about relationships, sex, and parenting. A guided discussion followed the screening.

The Alliance’s Teen Pregnancy Institute is the only conference in New England focused on issues related to teen pregnancy and parenting. Download the printable brochure for additional details on this year’s conference and view our Annual Conference page for more about past years’ events.
